Campus Safety

A safe, secure, and welcoming home away from home is a top priority for everyone at Hardin-Simmons. We achieve this with a dedicated campus police department, Title IX training for all employees, and most importantly, a commitment to God’s commandment to us as Christians: Love your neighbor as yourself.

  • Campus Police Services: 325-670-1911
  • Medical/Fire Emergencies: 911

To further enhance campus safety, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are in each police vehicle and strategically located throughout the campus.

HSUPD continually works with the University community to make the campus a safe place to learn, work, and live. Our safety escort service is designed for the community members who have safety concerns and would like to have an officer escort them. Based on availability either a Campus Safety Officer or Police Officer will escort students, faculty, and staff to locations beginning and ending on campus. If you feel that you need a safety escort, please call  the University Police Department at: 325-670-1911.

Emergency call boxes have been placed at various locations on the campus. These call boxes are labeled “Emergency” in white letters illuminated by a blue light.

While the main purpose of call boxes is to give our community a way to quickly reach out to us in the event of an emergency, they can be used to request police assistance, security escorts and any other police services. Operation is easy, just press the button. Your call goes directly to our University Police Department.

Call box locations are shown on the Campus Map.
