Homecoming 2022 is almost here! We hope you make plans to join us. Homecoming is a great time to reconnect with friends and classmates and experience the same beautiful campus you did as a student. Peruse the schedule below to see the variety of events taking place throughout the weekend.

Homecoming Schedule | October 13-16, 2022

5-6:30 p.m.  Annual Alumni Art Show Public Reception (Frost Center, Ira M. Taylor Memorial Gallery)

6:30 p.m. Alumni Awards Banquet (Johnson Building, $27) Join us as we celebrate the 2022 recipients of the Keeter Alumni Service Award and Distinguished Alumni Awards.

12-7 p.m. Registration (Moody Student Center) Register & receive your tickets & nametag. Purchase tickets for upcoming events

2-3:30 p.m. Alumni Book Signing (The Brand Office, Skiles Room 224) Lynn Taylor, class of 1968 and former editor of The Brand will be on campus signing copies of his book, I Wish I Thought of That Before, which recounts moments in Texas history, the newspaper industry, and the world of litigation that touched his life and the lives of those who lived through those times.

5-9 p.m. Friday Night Festival (Newman-Richardson Lawn) Join us for food trucks (pay-as-you-go), inflatables, yard games, and more.

6 p.m. All-School SING (Behrens Auditorium, $5 for students/$15 otherwise) Box Office opens at 5:30. All seating is general admission.

6:30-8:30 p.m. Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner (Johnson Building, $25) Celebrate the accomplishments of HSU athletes.

8:15 p.m. Pep Rally and Fireworks (Newman-Richardson Lawn) Come join the HSU Cheerleaders, Cowboy Band, Spurs and Hoss as they gather the crowd before the fireworks begin. Homecoming Court will be presented.

9-10:30 Late Night Breakfast (Bridges Courtyard in front of Richardson Library) Join us for a late-night feast of purple pancakes and sausage.

7:30-11:30 a.m. Registration (Moody Student Center) Register & receive your tickets & nametag. Purchase tickets for upcoming events. Pre-purchased tickets not picked up prior to event will be moved to will-call.

7:30-8:30 a.m. ROTC/Military Veterans Informal Breakfast (Moody Center, Cafeteria, $8)

8:30-9:30 Dept. of Communication Sciences & Disorders Reception (Caldwell Hall, 3rd floor) Inviting all former and future program graduates to visit. Coffee and pastries will be served.

9-10 a.m. Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics Coffee (Newman-Richardson Foyer) Faculty & current students look forward to sharing about the school over refreshments with alumni, friends, & prospects.

9-10 a.m. Logsdon Coffee (Moody Center, Lobby) All former and current students are invited to stop by and visit.

9-10 a.m. Parents-Only Breakfast (Moody 108, $5) Parents of current HSU students join us for breakfast. Register online for a nametag and to let us know you’re coming.

9-10 a.m. Cowboy Band Foundation Meeting (Cowboy Band Hall)

911 a.m. HSU Roundtable Ornament Sales (Moody, Foyer) Come pick up your 2022 ornament (previous years available for purchase)

9:30 a.m. Prospective Student Preview (varies) Preview starts in the Dyess Welcome Center (Hunter Hall) and concludes with the HSU Football Game (Shelton Stadium)

10-11:30 a.m. Ex-Cowgirls Coffee (Olsen House)

10:1511:15 a.m. “Chismeando” de HSU (Moody Center 227) Join the HSU Hispanic Assembly for conversation (in English or Spanish) & fellowship with Hispanic alumni & friends. Scholarship recipients will be recognized.

10:30-11 a.m. Theatre Reception (Costume Shop, 2613 Hickory St)

11-11:30 a.m. Choral Showcase Concert (Woodward-Dellis)

Lunch Meal Choices Skip the long restaurant lines!  Keep your parking spot!

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. HSU Cafeteria (Moody Cafeteria, $10 adults, $5 kids 4-10) The Cafeteria offers an all you can eat variety of foods in a calm, air-conditioned atmosphere.

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. HSU BBQ Tailgate (Bridges Courtyard in front of Richardson Library, $10 adults, $5 kids 4-10, students FREE with valid ID) Come enjoy the HSU spirit squads, Cowboy Band, and the excitement of pre-game.

12:30 p.m. Football Pre-Game Festivities (Shelton Stadium)

Alumni Check-In (Fletcher Fitness Center Patio) Come “check-in” and get your free HSU Alumni swag. Alumni Check-in occurs everyone home game (30 minutes prior to kick-off – halftime).

Kids Zone (Fletcher Fitness Center) for children ages 2 and up. Bring your kids over to the Fletcher Fitness Center and let them run and play on our indoor soccer field.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

1 p.m. Football: HSU Cowboys vs. East Texas Baptist (Shelton Stadium, $5, $8, $10) During halftime we will crown Homecoming King and Queen.

5-6:30 p.m. Alumni & Friends Reception at the Annual Alumni Art Show (Frost Center, Ira M. Taylor Memorial Gallery)

6-8 p.m. Golden Lariat Society (Connally Missions Center) For all alumni and exes who have celebrated their 50th class reunion!

Class Reunion Dinners

Alumni from the reunion class as well as surrounding class years are invited to attend the reunion dinners.  Some classes will have an organized program at their dinner while others will gather for dinner without a formal program. Sign up today to connect with classmates and reminisce about the ‘good ole’ days.
