Homecoming Friday Night (Oct. 18)

5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Homecoming Festival (Sid Rich Lawn) Join us for old fashion carnival games, interactive games (including a climbing wall/slide, mechanical bull, and a children’s bounce house), and more. Enjoy an array of food from Heart’s Barbecue, Classic Sliders, Tacos and Bill’s Lemonade  (pay-as-you-go).

8:15 p.m. Homecoming Pep Rally & Fireworks HSU Spirit Squads and the Cowboy Band will perform, the 2019 nominees for University King and Queen will be presented, and fireworks will light up the sky.

9:00 p.m. Late Night Breakfast (Immediately following fireworks) A twist on the Pancake Study Break, come join the HSU police department as they serve purple pancakes and sausage (Free)

Monday, October 14

12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Love Built Signs (Anderson Lawn) Come paint a sign and enjoy free candy

Wednesday, October 16

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Paint Your Pride (In front of Behrens) Come get your windows chalked, and get into the Homecoming spirit. Sponsored by HSU Athletic Engagement Committee.

Thursday, October 17

3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Party to Dye For (Anderson Lawn) Come grab a slice of pizza and tye dye a shirt

6:30 p.m. Alumni Awards Banquet (Johnson Building, $27) Join us as we celebrate the 2019 recipients of the Keeter Alumni Service Award and Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Friday, October 18

11 – 1 p.m. Make Some Noise (Moody Porch) What’s a football game or pep rally without some noise?? Come make your own noise maker. Sponsored by HSU Athletic Engagement Committee.

12 – 7 p.m. Registration (Moody and Homecoming Festival) Register & receive your Homecoming Schedule Book, tickets, & nametag. Purchase tickets for upcoming events.

2 – 5 p.m. 1891 Legacy Room Reception  (Richardson Library, 2nd floor) (Yearbooks $10 cash)

3 – 4 p.m. School of Music Foundation Meeting (Hemphill, 211)

5 – 6 p.m. Football Locker Room Open House (Field House) Come get “behind the team” access to tour the newly renovated locker rooms and meet the captains.

5 – 9 p.m. Friday Night Festival (Sid Rich lawn) Join us for food trucks (pay-as-you-go), inflatables, carnival games, and more. Registration open from 5-7 p.m.

6 p.m. All-School SING (Behrens Auditorium, $5 for students/$15 otherwise) Box Office at 5:30. All seating is general admission.

6 – 8 p.m. Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner (Johnson Building, $25) Celebrate the accomplishments of HSU own athletes.

8:15 p.m. Pep Rally and Fireworks (Sid Rich) Come join the HSU Cheerleaders, Cowboy Band, Spurs and Hoss as they gather the crowd before the fireworks begin. Presentation of University King and Queen nominees.

Saturday, October 19

7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. Homecoming Headquarters (Moody Center, 120) will be open to answer any questions, help collect lost & found items, and offer any support you may require during the weekend. **closed from 11:30 – 3:30 p.m.

7:30 – 8:30 a.m. ROTC/Military Veterans Informal Breakfast (Moody Center, Cafeteria, $8)

7:30 – 11:30 a.m. Registration (Moody Student Center) Register & receive your Homecoming Schedule Book, tickets, & nametag. Purchase tickets for upcoming events. Pre-purchased tickets not picked up prior to event will be moved to will-call.

8:00 – 1:00 p.m. HSU PT Day of Service Join us as we help to build wheelchair ramps for those unable to leave their homes because of mobility issues. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED! All tools and supplies will be provided. (Contact Joe McCormick at joe.mccormick@hsutx.edu or 325-670-1927)

11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. HSU Cafeteria (Moody Cafeteria, $10 adults, $5 kids 4-10) The Cafeteria offers an all you can eat variety of foods in a calm, air-conditioned atmosphere.

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. HSU BBQ Tailgate (Parking lot Behind Abilene Hall, $10 adults, $5 kids 4-10, students FREE with valid ID) Come enjoy the HSU spirit squads, Cowboy Band and the excitement of pre-game.


11:30 – 1:00 p.m. Tommy Hale Short Game Golf Facility Open House Come check out HSU’s own short game facility and hit a few balls before you head to the game.

12:30 p.m.  Football Pre-Game Festivities (Shelton Stadium)

Alumni Check-In (Fitness Center Patio) Come “check-in” and get your free HSU Alumni swag. Alumni Check-in occurs everyone home game (30 minutes prior to kick-off – halftime).

Kids Zone (Fitness Center) for children ages 2 and up. Come bring your kids over to the Fletcher Fitness Center and let them run and play on our indoor soccer field.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

1 p.m.  Football: HSU Cowboys vs. Belhaven (Shelton Stadium, $10/$8/$5)

3 – 4 p.m. HSU Volleyball Reception (Mabee Complex, Hall of Fame Room)

3:45 p.m.  HSU Cheerleader Fourth Quarter Fun (Shelton Stadium) Former Cheerleaders are invited to cheer with us during the 4th quarter, then stay for Gatorade and snacks.

5 – 7 p.m. Art Department Alumni & Friends Reception (Frost Center)

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. HSU Family Worship Service (Logsdon Chapel) Before returning home, join in a time of refreshment, reflection, music & inspiration presented by HSU Alumni from this year’s reunion classes, groups, and students. Bringing the message is 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient Brig. Gen Ron Harvell ’83 and his wife Marsha (Mills) Harvell ’83. Music presented by the Cowboy Band and the HSU Gospel choir, Selah.
