    Thank you for your inquiry and interest in the College of Human Sciences and Educational Studies at Hardin-Simmons University.     It is without reservation that I commend the HSU faculty to you. Each full time professor has earned impressive academic credentials and experiential knowledge that enhance his/her instructional effectiveness. Our faculty members are Christians who actively practice and demonstrate their faith daily. The goals of the faculty are to help students achieve their professional goals and nurture their spiritual life, within the context of a Christian community of learners. Our faculty members provide accurate academic advisement, are accessible and approachable. They take a personal interest in our students and strive to challenge, provide timely guidance, and address critical issues in the fields of Human Sciences and Educational Studies. Our faculty provide a caring and supportive learning environment focused on the development of professional skills and knowledge.

    The College of Human Sciences and Educational Studies offers a wide range of programming at the Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral level. Many of the programs are nationally accredited. Programs include the following areas: Human Services Administration, Early Childhood, Counseling and Human Development, Athletic Training, Education, Exercise Science, and Fitness, Recreation and Sports Management. Each program conducts and annual assessment. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) also reviews our Educator Preparation Program yearly with a review of test scores and other accountability requirements. The departments also review other external accountability requirements such as state credentialing examinations, employee evaluations completed by the graduates themselves near the end of their initial year of employment. All of these measures provide annual feedback for assurance of quality programming.
