Upcoming HSU Alumni Events

The Alumni Engagement Office plans a variety of events throughout the year to bring HSU Alumni and friends together.  As your schedule permits, we hope you will register to join us for the events that apply to you. Pre-registration is required for most events!

HSU is coming to a city near you! Connect with HSU alumni, staff, and friends over dinner. At each gathering, there will be a short program which will include an update from HSU coaches, academic deans, and or faculty/staff members.   • Monday, July 27, 2026 | Lubbock Family Ice Cream Hangout | Join us at Holly Hops Ice Cream Shoppe for a fun evening of come-and-go fellowship and FREE ice cream. The event will be from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Click HERE to let us know you are coming, so we can bring you free HSU swag!
  • Tuesday, July 28, 2026 | HSU Night at the Amarillo Sod Poodles | The first pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m. as the Sod Poodles take on the San Antonio Missions. All HSU friends, family, alumni, students, and parents are welcome to come to the game! All tickets purchased include dinner which will be from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Click HERE to purchase tickets! Menu includes burgers, chips, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, cookies and assorted Pepsi products and water. Children 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket.
  • Thursday, July 30, 2026 | Lubbock Family Gathering Dinner | Connect with HSU alumni, staff, students, parents, and friends over dinner. There will be plenty of time to get to know one another, and a university update. Adults and kids are invited! The menu includes a salad, an option of grilled chicken, grilled salmon, or 3 Meat BBQ, and the choice of a baked potato or fries. The children’s menu options are steak, bbq, grilled chicken, chicken strips, grilled cheese, or a hot dog. Click HERE to RSVP! 
  • Friday, July 31, 2026 | HSU Night at the Midland RockHounds | Join us for a fun night at the ballpark! Gates open at 5:45 p.m., and your ticket includes an all-you-can-eat picnic meal from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be available for pickup at the picnic check-in tent at the main entrance. The menu includes all your favorite ballpark classics, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chips, popcorn, and drinks. We have also included ice cream for each person. Adult tickets are $27 per person, and children (3-17) are $15 each. Parking on site is free! Click HERE to purchase tickets! 
  • Thursday, August 13 | Abilene – HSU Campus Prayer Walk | Meet at Logsdon Chapel at 7:30 p.m. | No RSVP required. Hardin-Simmons University invites the Big Country community, HSU alumni, and supporters everywhere to participate in the second annual Prayer Walk beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Logsdon Chapel. The event will begin with a time of group prayer at the chapel before participants disperse across campus to pray over our campus. The Prayer Walk aims to spiritually prepare the university for the upcoming academic year by lifting up the students, faculty, and staff who will occupy all campus spaces.
  • Saturday, August 22 | HSU Stampede New Student Alumni Ice Cream Social | The HSU Alumni Association is hosting it’s annual Homemade Ice Cream Social for HSU’s new students this year on Saturday, August 23 from 7:15-9:00 p.m. We need 36 gallons of homemade ice cream! If you would like to participate, we ask that you make the ice cream yourself, nothing store bought. Click HERE to sign up!
