(ABILENE, Texas)–It was recently confirmed that Hardin-Simmons University is designated G.I. Jobs Military Friendly by Viqtory for the tenth year. Viqtory is a company that serves to connect veterans to civilian opportunity after they leave the military. Viqtory Inc. owns G.I. Jobs, which is a resource that veterans can use to find jobs or schools to help them transition into the next step of their life. The G.I. Jobs Military Friendly College list is widely used by veterans looking for a good school that will support them.

HSU has been qualified to appear on the list for ten years due to the resources it provides military service members and veterans. Convenience often plays a factor when choosing a school, and HSU is just minutes away from Dyess Air Force Base. The university also participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which is a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill that helps veterans attend participating private colleges. Hardin-Simmons also has the Chambliss Scholarship that was created to help veterans who are not fully covered.

Dr. Dave Rozeboom, Vice President for Student Life, summed up HSU’s excitement for the designation by saying, “Given our close proximity to Dyess Air Force Base we are thrilled to have this opportunity to honor our military and veteran students.”
