BSM Reach ’22
Spring break allows students to rest, have fun, and bond with those around them. This spring break, the Baptist Student Ministry spent their time hosting and participating in Reach ’22, a local mission trip based in Abilene March 12-16. Tanner Clarke, Director of Baptist Student Ministry (BSM), stated, “The mission of this trip is to help our students grow in evangelism and discipleship because these are best learned by practicalizing it.”

Some of the activities planned by the BSM included door-to-door visits to over 500 homes and praying for the people living there. Additionally, students engaged in service projects such as constructing and painting for non-profit organizations around Abilene.
In addition to service projects around the community, the BSM arranged a variety of activities for international students in the evenings due to a considerable number of international students remaining on campus over spring break. With events including scavenger hunts, frisbee, board games, and movies, BSM and international students were given the opportunity to bond and share meals together. In an interview with Britni Starr, a student BSM member, she said,
Reach ’22 has opened my eyes to see that there are people around me who need to hear the gospel.
Throughout the school year, the BSM organizes Bible studies on campus such as Woven, Fish Food, and Wonder. To hear more about events and future mission trips hosted by the BSM, follow them on their Instagram page or add them on Snapchat.
