Having a giving spirit has always been a characteristic of the students and employees of Hardin-Simmons University. To lend a hand to the community of Abilene, Hardin-Simmons made a generous donation in August to the Life Church to help its congregation spread the message of God and giving.

“Life Church cannot thank Hardin-Simmons enough for their helpful donations to our church. Through these donations, Hardin-Simmons is helping us make a difference in Abilene and share Jesus with others,” said Donte Carleno, active member and student worker at Life Church.

Hardin-Simmons University recently donated a variety of printing machines and supplies valued at more than $10,000 to the Life Church to help assist them in their ministry.

The printing donations will help supply the church with the necessary materials to continue and promote various ministry programs within the church, such as the Abilene Dream Center.

The Abilene Dream Center is a faith-based, nine-month discipleship program that has helped individuals recover from a broken background which may include anxiety, depression, and addiction.

For over five years, the center has impacted and helped hundreds of people overcome their challenges and become productive members of the community.

Life Church will use the printing items to create t-shirts, flyers, banners, and fundraising materials within the dream center program.

“The acts of kindness from Hardin-Simmons will be a great help to our church and programs. So many people can be helped now because of this college,” Carleno said.
