HSU to host spiritual opportunities at Super Summer, FCA camps

Each summer, students are given the opportunities to attend a variety of summer camps on the Hardin-Simmons University campus ranging from academic to athletic. In addition, Hardin-Simmons University hosts unique, spiritually-oriented summer camps that allow students to strengthen their relationships with Christ through a fun and thoughtful environment. Hardin-Simmons will be hosting two Super Summer Camp sessions on campus: June 9-16 and July 7-14. HSU is also hosting the Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp from June 2-9.

The Super Summer overnight camps are open for all students in grades 6-12 and generally impact 400-700 students each year. Super Summer Camps allow students to connect with other kids their age and the faculty of HSU, while learning how to navigate through the journey of life with Christ.

This year’s theme will be: Discovering the Mystery. The theme and activities of the camp is inspired by Ephesians 6:19: “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given to me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.”

Super Summer will be led by 14 Broncos, a team of individuals who are committed to serving God, HSU, and their students. The camps’ participants will be lead in meaningful lessons and games by the Broncos. Each activity will follow the theme of the camp and will have a life message that goes along with it.

The summer camps are also an opportunity, for those interested in attending Hardin-Simmons, to learn more about the University and become more familiar with the campus. HSU student, Nathaniel Chilton, attended a Super Summer Camp as a high school student and immediately became committed to attending Hardin-Simmons after graduation.

“I came here the summer before my senior year and was instantly changed. This camp brought me to know Christ, and it sold me on coming to this great college. I have loved this place and these camps ever since,” Chilton said.
