(Abilene, Texas) – Get your secret chili ingredients ready for the third annual Chili Cook-off coming to Anderson Lawn on April 7 at 5:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public and free to attend. The previous two Chili Cook-offs were primarily campus events and this year’s event will be the first to be open to community members.

Contestants will compete for a first-place prize and two secondary special awards: most creative and people’s choice. The judges will be HSU President Dr. Lanny Hall and HSU president-elect Eric Bruntmyer.

The event is hosted by the HSU Student Activity Board.

By opening the event up to community participants, students will have an opportunity to get to know more about the community and area organizations, said co-organizer Victoria Blosch. Community participants may also set up booths to share information about their organization.
