The Six White Horses appear on The Impression magazine

Hardin-Simmons has one of the oldest traditions among all schools in Texas: The Six White Horses. With their riders renewed every year at the tryouts, 2018 has been a fantastic year for them so far. This tradition arrived in New York because the horses and the riders made a surprising appearance on the cover of The Impression magazine!

This fashion magazine is one of the world’s leading resources for covering fashion runway projects. Its photographer Mark Seliger and his crew came to Stamford to take the perfect picture during the rodeo and show what West Texas is all about. Debbie Jones, Director of The Six White Horses Program, has been in charge of this program for nineteen years.

The set was held in Stamford during the Texas Cowboy Reunion, a parade dedicated to celebrating western heritage and the Texas cowboy spirit. This is not the first time The Six White Horses make an appearance at important events like this one. They have performed in forty states, three Cotton Bowl parades, the Hollywood Christmas parade, and special events and different ceremonies around Texas. The riders also had the opportunity to perform in a parade in Nice, France. Many famous personalities know the horses, such as actor John Wayne and President Lyndon Johnson. The team was also presented in the inaugural ceremony for Presidents Carter and Nixon and Bush.
