HSU Wants to Hear From You!

Perspective Series to Give Students a Voice

November 6, 2018 Grace Mitchell, Staff Writer

Hardin-Simmons has a diverse student population. Since President Bruntmyer began his presidency, HSU’s international population has grown from 31 students to 64 students from 26 countries. We also have students from different races, ethnicities, cultures, and orientations. HSU has student-athletes, student workers, social club members, musicians, artists, and actors. Each student at HSU has a unique story to tell. That is why HSU is introducing a new Student Perspective series.

HSU hopes that this series will give a voice to all students. It will also give students the opportunity to be published. Stories can share favorite memories, why students chose to attend Hardin-Simmons, how HSU has affected their lives, or how their unique background has affected their time on campus.

Once the story is submitted, HSU’s communications team will review the submission for formatting, style, clarity and content. If the team decides to publish the story, they will contact the student with proposed edits.

Students who would like to share their story can send it to marketing@hsutx.edu. Submission guidelines are below.

  • Attach as a Word document with the subject “Student Perspective.”
  • Include name, major, and graduation year in the header.
  • Write less than 1,000 words.
  • Write short paragraphs.
  • Include a high-resolution picture.
