HSU Family to Gather Oct. 11-14

Homecoming is just a week away, and HSU is excited to share fun activities available for all ages. It’s not too late to register for these events. Register here by Oct. 9.

For Alumni

Homecoming events begin on Oct. 11 with the Alumni Awards Banquet, honoring the 2018 recipients of the Keeter Service Award and Distinguished Alumni Award.

SING 2017

The excitement continues Friday night with All-School SING and an open house for the Fletcher Fitness Center. Alumni will have the opportunity to sign up for a complimentary fitness pass, good through Aug. 2019. Tours will continue on Saturday at the new Physical Therapy building and at the new campus apartments.

Alumni will have opportunities to meet with their college and departments, organizations, and graduating classes throughout the weekend. Classes of 1978, 1988, 1993, 1998, and 2008 will have special meetings on Saturday evening.

The Homecoming Art Sale will be held in Richardson Library Friday-Saturday, featuring pieces by the late Dr. Jesse Fletcher and others.

For Students

Paint Your Pride 2017

Current HSU students always enjoy homecoming festivities. $5 student night for SING is Thursday evening. Students will enjoy Paint Your Pride Oct. 10 from 4-6 p.m. as they decorate their car windows. They will also tie-dye shirts at Party 2 Dye 4 on Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Homecoming king and queen will be crowned Friday at 4 p.m. in Logsdon Chapel. Students and alumni are welcome to the Friday Night Festival, complete with a pep rally, food trucks, and fireworks.

For Parents

In addition to watching students perform in SING and compete in athletic events, parents of current HSU students can join us at the Parents-Only Breakfast on Saturday in Moody 233 at 9 a.m.

For the Kids

HSU Kids Club 2017

The HSU Kids Club has activities Saturday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. including crafts, games, face painting, white horse rides, and fun with the Spurs, cheerleaders, and Hoss the Cowboy.

Children ages five and up are welcome to run and play on the indoor soccer field 30 minutes before kick-off until halftime of Friday’s football game against Sul Ross.
