When did you join the HSU family?

I joined the HSU family in 2015.

What is one accomplishment in your career that you are proud of?

Definitely getting the Physician Assistant Program launched and growing. It has been a great success.

What major challenge have you faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?

The PA program at HSU was one of the first programs to be open in our state for over 17 years, so getting full accreditation was an incredibly hard task, but my team and I were able to work together. We are fully accredited and have a full staff and many wonderful students.

What motivates you to continue giving your best at your job?

It is the drive to be the best. You never want to be second best or mediocre. We aim to have an excellent PA Program, university, and faculty. Our students are top-notch.

What do you especially love about your job here at HSU?

I love the opportunity to incorporate service with our students. We have made lots of international mission trips and local service projects. Our students are plugged in and serving worldwide.

How do you manage your time effectively?

Time management is crucial for success; you must be strict about your calendar and prioritize. I am very lucky to have a great team that helps carry the load and support the students.

What are your hobbies?

I love to travel, spend time with my beautiful granddaughter, and do needle crafts such as knitting, crocheting, and reading.

As a Professor, what advice would you give to those at HSU?

Live your principles, and that will serve you well. Be sure that you know what you stand for. Continue to work hard. Say “Yes” to new opportunities that will help you grow.
