HSU PA enrolled its first cohort of students in 2017, making it the newest program ranked in the top 90 by U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Jennifer Eames, Founding Director and current Director of HSU PA, said, “It is clear that in our short time in existence, we have made a strong impression on the national scene with our favorable outcomes, excellent students/graduates, and stellar faculty.” She continued, “We are very humbled by the opportunity to be listed amongst the giants in the industry, many of whom started PA programs in the 1970s and have had decades to build their reputations.”

This ranking further validates the trust that our patients and employers can have in the HSU Physician Assistant alumni to deliver outstanding health care for all.

Rankings and scores reflect an average rating on a scale from 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding) based on a survey of academics at peer institutions. Dr. Eames elaborated, “It is an honor to see that our peers appreciate the dedication to high standards that we have committed to at the HSU Physician Assistant program. We have worked hard to build relationships around the country, being a brand ambassador. Our success is especially due to the focus and importance we have placed on leadership, advocacy, and commitment to focus on diversity.”

HSU PA also stands out among other programs in the country due to its commitment to community service. HSU PA regularly incorporates service into its curriculum with yearly mission trips, fundraising projects, and volunteering with nonprofits, both domestic and abroad. These opportunities provide curriculum and spiritual enrichment, creating unique and powerful moments for all involved.

Dr. Eames shared, “I am so thankful for our incredible team of faculty and all they do to grow great healthcare providers every day. We are modeling the leadership characteristics we expect our students to commit to into the future!”
