(Abilene, Texas) Hardin-Simmons is collecting funds to benefit those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

HSU has joined with the efforts of many in the Abilene community to provide support for those affected by the devastation from Hurricane Harvey in Southeast Texas. The University is accepting hurricane aid donations online at https://connect.hsutx.edu/HSUhelpsHarvey?.

HSU will also take up a collection during Friday’s Tedashii concert at Behrens Auditorium. Funds will benefit those in need and will support the work of the American Red Cross, Texas Baptist Men, and the Salvation Army.

“Thank you for helping affected Texans and for being the hands and feet of Christ,” said President Eric Bruntmyer in an email to the HSU community.

HSU students, faculty, and staff members gathered in prayer for the entire storm-affected region on Monday in Logsdon Chapel. Many members of the HSU community have family and friends located in the impacted areas.
