Alexandra Theile | Student, Master of Physician Assistant Studies | Pearland, Texas
"The HSU PA program has helped me learn not only the medical knowledge I will need to treat and diagnose patients effectively but also strengthen my professional skills so that I can effectively communicate with patients to educate them about their treatment plan. Our curriculum includes a wide variety of courses that have not only biological, but also psychological, physiological, and cultural concepts as well. I feel that the education I am obtaining will allow me to be a well-rounded PA that can connect with a diverse population of patients."

Dan Tagailo | Student, Doctor of Physical Therapy | Houston, Texas
"I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in 2023, and I always had the intention to pursue my Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. I applied to multiple different universities, but Hardin-Simmons stood out to me because of the emphasis of servant leadership and medical missions within the physical therapy program."

Hannah Bessent ‘24 | Physical Therapy | Brownwood, Texas
"When I came to HSU, I was shy and lacked confidence in myself. I was so worried about what others saw me as instead of being sure of my own abilities. I did not fully trust that I was in the right spot for my future. Through putting myself out there by joining clubs and realizing that my purpose was much higher than the trivial things I was concerned about, I was able to grow into a whole new person."

Jessica Buford ‘24 | Exercise Science | Wallis, Texas
"My journey to HSU is an interesting one. I grew up in a small town west of Houston and had only ever heard of Abilene thanks to a couple of country songs on the radio. When it came time to start applying for colleges, I had my top two schools and one wildcard that I had not known much about but was going to apply to in an effort to get out of my comfort zone. HSU was my wildcard school. It was a place I had never heard of but instantly fell in love with. I made a weekend trip up to Abilene in January of 2021 and toured HSU. The sense of community and family was so overwhelming that weekend. It was a place that was six hours from my hometown but still felt like home."

Julie Han ‘24 | Master of Physician Assistant Studies | Irving, Texas
"I applied to HSU’s PA program in hopes of being challenged by the rigor of the program and appreciated their teacher to student ratio. The timing of it all was just so clear. I was meant to be in this program at HSU."

Kriselmy Palma | Student, Mass Communication | Abilene, Texas
"The scholarships I have received are an immense help for me to continue into the field of Media. They have also given me a confidence that I am cared for, and that God has been with me on my journey without leaving my side. These scholarships encourage me to continue my education in the field of Media where I want to influence the world for Christ."

Lauren Jackson ‘22/’24 | Master in Athletic Training | Saginaw, Texas
"One day my parents and I were traveling to Abilene to tour ACU when we got a phone call from my aunt telling us about HSU and her experience in the education program years ago. Because of her call, we decided to change plans and tour HSU instead. After visiting and re-visiting the campus with friends from school weeks later, I felt very heavily on my heart that the Lord wanted me to attend HSU. So, I applied only to HSU and got in! I received my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2022, and now I am actively pursuing my master’s degree in athletic training, graduating this May."

Mathias Duut ‘24 | Biochemistry & Molecular Biology | Ghana
"Being part of the Christlieb program at HSU has been a tremendous blessing. Hardin-Simmons has enriched my academic and spiritual life, allowing me to form lasting friendships and gain valuable knowledge from both peers and professors. This wouldn’t be possible without the financial support of the Christlieb program and has been essential for my dream of becoming a surgeon."

Madison Lewis ’23 | Christian Studies & Mass Communication | Goldthwaite, Texas
"Since my sophomore year of high school, I knew I was called to ministry and had begun searching for Christian colleges. Initially, the price of a private Christian university scared me. I was afraid my family couldn’t afford a private education, but as we looked into it, my parents and I were pleasantly surprised to see that
HSU scholarships with the local scholarships I received, made my dream pursuable after all!"

Tim Baek ’24 | Music | China
"Receiving scholarships allows me to focus more on my studies and music practice without much worry about finances. While I still work to cover expenses not included in scholarships, the assistance with tuition helps a lot."
