The Office of Institutional Research serves Hardin-Simmons University by providing accurate and reliable data in support of planning, policy making, and program reviews in accordance with the institution's mission and strategic goals. This office responds to federal, state and national surveys requesting demographic information and vital statistics regarding HSU. Additionally most in-house surveys, including instructor evaluations, are prepared, distributed, processed and analyzed by our office. Our goal is to maintain the confidentiality of records and provide information in a timely and friendly format.
Administrative anonymous surveys such as: student housing, recreation, IT or food service-related surveys do not require review by the IRB as they are used for improving student life at Hardin-Simmons University. They should be approved by appropriate Vice-President prior to dissemination.
As of August 1, 2017 all research protocols submitted to the IRB will require training from all members of the research team regardless of their role in the investigation. This training is free and offered by the NIH Office of Extramural Research: Protecting Human Research Participants Training.It takes approximately 120-180 minutes to complete the training. Please submit all Certificates of Completion with your IRB application. Save copies of your Certificates for later use.
