Mr. Todd Dole joined the Hardin-Simmons University faculty as an Instructor of Computer Science in 2024. He is married with four children.

Prior to joining the faculty, Mr. Dole worked in software development and information technology in a variety of industries, with organizations including Directors Investment Group, Amazon, Expeditors International, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Mr. Dole is also an ordained minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. He has served as a pastor in Wichita Falls, Texas; Norman, Oklahoma; and Abilene, Texas.

His academic and research interests center on artificial intelligence and its practical applications. Particular areas of interest include the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence, especially within the church and Christian ministry, as well as applications of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotics in precision agriculture and viticulture. He is particularly interested in using emerging technologies to address practical challenges in vineyard management and agricultural production.

He has served as the Section Chair for Mathematics and Computer Science at the Texas Academy of Science since 2025.
