He later went on to earn a Ph.D. in family studies from Texas Woman’s University, beginning his higher education teaching career at McMurry University.
After five years, Dr. Dodd accepted a position as the assistant director of the ACU Center for Conflict Resolution, where he served as a professional consultant and speaker in addition to teaching online graduate courses as an assistant professor. Seven years later, they sold the business to another ice cream-loving family, which allowed Dr. Dodd to return to higher education at Hardin-Simmons University.
