(ABILENE, Texas)–Hardin-Simmons Alumni Relations recently hosted Hardin-Simmons Day at the Texas Rangers. Tickets were sold online and custom Hardin-Simmons University-themed Texas Rangers caps were given to the first 1,000 people who purchased a ticket.

Hundreds of HSU alumni, friends, family, and current students filled the stadium on Saturday, eager to see the Texas Rangers defeat the Kansas City Royals 6-2.

“This has been my third year going, and this time, I got to celebrate it on my mom’s birthday.

Kacie Eurek celebrates her mom’s birthday at the Rangers game, surrounded by friends and family.

The best part about these games is not only that I get to spend time with my family, but also introduce them to everyone I love at HSU,” said Kacie Eurek ’17. “My mom had an amazing time meeting other HSU Cowboys and families at the game, and she even had a chance to catch up with President Bruntmyer. If you are looking for a fun way to get involved with the HSU community, this is one of my favorite new traditions, and it makes it sweeter being able to share it with my family.”

If you were unable to attend HSU at the Texas Rangers, for the very first time, HSU at the Houston Astros will be held June 15 and tickets are available at https://groupmatics.events/event/HSU2019.

Leftover caps are currently being sold online for $20 at https://connect.hsutx.edu/RangerCap. Caps can be picked up on campus or shipped to the desired location.
