September 15, 2025

Hardin-Simmons University is honored to host “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band for a free public performance on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Behrens Chapel Auditorium.

The band’s appearance in Abilene is part of its national fall tour, which features an hour-and-a-half to two-hour concert, including a 15-minute intermission. The program will showcase the ensemble’s virtuosity through a mix of traditional marches, classical works, and contemporary pieces.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our community to experience the unmatched musical excellence of ‘The President’s Own,’” said Dr. Bob Brooks, Dean of the Hardin-Simmons University College of Arts and Media. “We are thrilled to welcome them to campus and to offer this performance at no cost to attendees.”

Founded in 1798 by an Act of Congress, “The President’s Own” is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization. Its mission is to perform music for the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps, earning a reputation as one of the finest wind ensembles in the world.

Tickets are free, but seating is limited to 1,800 guests. Tickets will be released one month, Sept. 25, 2025, before the performance, and advanced reservations are strongly encouraged.
