Tell us about your journey to HSU.
After high school, I prayed for guidance to find a small, liberal arts Christian college. Fortunately, God answered my prayers through a friend who lived in Dallas that recommended I apply to Hardin-Simmons University.
Tell us about the impact scholarships had on you.
Being part of the Christlieb program at HSU has been a tremendous blessing. Hardin-Simmons has enriched my academic and spiritual life, allowing me to form lasting friendships and gain valuable knowledge from both peers and professors. This wouldn’t be possible without the financial support of the Christlieb program and has been essential for my dream of becoming a surgeon.
What has your student experience been like at HSU?
My experience has been incredibly fulfilling. I have made friends who encourage and motivate me both academically and spiritually, and I have grown close to my professors, learning a lot from them.
How has your degree program helped prepare you for your future career calling?
Classes such as biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, organic chemistry, and genetics have provided a solid foundation in medical science. These courses prepared me with the essential knowledge for a successful career in medicine.
What has been your greatest achievement thus far?
In the spring of 2022, I was honored with the Holland School of Science and Mathematics’ Best Student Award in Chemistry and Physics.
How has HSU impacted you?
HSU helped me grow as a person, both in faith and in knowledge, and has instilled in me the value of being part of a community.
What is next for you?
I plan to attend medical school after completing my undergraduate degree at HSU.
