Dr. John Eric Swenson received a surprise email last week, informing him that two of his students won top awards at the ACU Undergraduate Research Festival.

Senior Psychology majors Cassie Dennis and Hailey Roberts received the Outstanding Poster Presentation for their research on the Sexual Attitudes of College Students. They surveyed more than 140 students about their attitudes toward rape and consent as a part of their research. “It’s really important information to keep aware of and keep educating on in our country’s current climate”, says Cassie Dennis, referring to the current discussion about sexual assault in our country.

They competed against researchers from all three local universities. The ACU Undergraduate Research Festival is a one-day event that occurs every spring on the ACU campus.
