Originating from Curitiba in the state of Paraná in Brazil, she has also lived in Chile and Mozambique before coming to the United States to study biochemistry and molecular biology at Hardin-Simmons University. As the president of ISF, Anne takes on a wide array of tasks, from leading officers and member meetings to organizing events alongside the other officers and partnering with other offices on campus. Despite the challenges, Anne is glad to be a part of ISF. “I enjoy the fellowship that we have with people who come from so many different places,” she recounted in an interview. “Everyone has a unique way to view life and it’s wonderful to share their perspective.”

The annual International Week is currently running on campus, and Anne is overjoyed to be a part of the process. “International Week is definitely my favorite week of the year,” she shared. “It is an incredibly busy week, but I have created so many memories from those events.” Her goals for the week are to share the roots and origins of the international students on campus and to give thanks to God for creating such a diverse, wonderful world we can share together.

As for the future of ISF, she hopes to see the club grow and bring in more international students and to see the club serve as a bridge between international and domestic students. Anne welcomes any student interested in the club on campus to join the club to celebrate the wonderful differences between people, learn to walk together in the footsteps of Christ, and help each other grow.
