Celebrate International Week at HSU

March 1, 2022 Mary Burke

Hardin-Simmons University is home to a robust number of international students representing various countries and traditions. The Office of Global Engagement (GE) is made up of dedicated individuals who ensure HSU’s international students experience a smooth transition into American life. GE staff are known for late-night airport pickups, opening their homes to international students who can’t fly home on holiday break, explaining cultural differences, and more.

GE staff empower the students they work with to become campus leaders. A student-led group, called International Student Fellowship (ISF), has emerged from GE. ISF creates fellowship opportunities by organizing events to introduce international culture to the HSU community. These events range from lunch-and-learns to week-long celebrations.

Each March, ISF hosts International Week to celebrate and share the many cultures found on campus. International Week kicked off Tuesday, March 1 during chapel and will continue through March 5.

ISF invites the HSU Family to attend the many events scheduled throughout the week:

Tuesday, March 1 | International Chapel | 9:30 AM Behrens Chapel

Wednesday, March 2 | International Buffet| 12:00 PM Moody Dining Hall
