HSU Signs Articulation Agreement with Collin College

Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) has signed an articulation agreement with Collin College, outlining a direct transfer option between the two schools for Collin College students looking to transfer and complete their degrees at a university. This agreement simplifies the process for students enrolled at Collin College to transfer their completed hours to continue their education at HSU.

The partnership identifies which Collin College courses will transfer to Hardin-Simmons, and it helps students identify which courses will be most useful when seeking their bachelor degrees. The arrangement officially starts in the Spring 2018 semester.

“This agreement with Collin College identifies for future transfer students courses that will move smoothly to HSU,” says Dr. Laura Pogue, Dean of General Education at HSU. “It sets a clear pathway from Collin College to HSU for those students at Collin who have a heart for the kind of Christian liberal arts higher education that is our mission at Hardin-Simmons. They want to make sure they take useable courses while at Collin, and this agreement will help them.”

Articulation agreements have been signed with five community colleges; Collin College is the sixth. Hardin-Simmons also works with Tarrant Co. College, Hill College, Blinn College, Midland College, and Cisco College. “Hardin-Simmons has worked to create a strong set of academic pathways from community colleges in almost every area of the state, and even now we’re creating more, to help those students who come to us from all across Texas make sure they can map out a course plan from the place where they are to a degree at HSU and ultimately a lifetime of making a difference in the world,” Dr. Pogue concludes.

Collin College students can start their higher education with quality courses, close to home, and know that their courses will count toward a four-year degree at HSU later. Collin College students will have clear course comparisons and HSU admissions counselors willing to help them apply for admission and scholarships. HSU accepts up to 66 hours of coursework from two-year institutions.
