HSU School of Music performs Fall Choral Showcase
(ABILENE, Texas)–The Hardin-Simmons School of Music presented its Fall Choral Showcase on Nov. 25, featuring the Chorale, UpBeat, and Concert Choir.
Directed by Professor of Voice, Dr. Christopher Hollingsworth, the Chorale sang five songs and featured three soloists. Julia Hollingsworth was a soloist in Children of Eden, arranged by Audrey Snyder from the musical titled, “Children of Eden.” Crown Him (Majesty), with Hannah Bradt as soloist, was arranged by Heather Sorenson while Janet Moreno and Bryson Rule were soloists in Shout Glory! by Bryson J Smith.
UpBeat performed The Twelve Days of Christmas, arranged by Bryan Sharpe and O Come, All Ye Faithful, which was arranged by Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi. UpBeat is directed by Alyssa Anderson and Aaron Dominguez.
The Concert Choir, directed by Associate Professor of Music Education and Director of HSU Chorale, Dr. Dee Romines, performed nine songs and included several soloists. Jesu, Dulcis Memoria by Tomas Luis De Victoria was the first of many songs from the choir. Arranged by F.M. Christiansen, Beautiful Savior included three soloists; Emily Hatch, Shelby Walker, and Janet Moreno. Closing the showcase, was a song arranged by Norman Luboff called Still, Still, Still with Dr. Karla Ordonez playing flute.
