Hardin-Simmons University’s 2022-2023 Enrollment

September 12, 2022 Mary Burke

Total enrollment for Hardin-Simmons University’s 2022-2023 academic year is 1,765.

HSU is excited about the academic vigor brought in by this new group of freshmen. Out of 428 new students, 13% of this year’s freshman class were named top 10% from their high schools with an additional 37% named as top 25%. Another accolade of this new class is an increase in both SAT and ACT Composite scores compared to last year’s freshman class.

New degree programs have been implemented this semester, inspired by industry needs and engaged faculty, allowing recruitment to place additional emphasis on post-graduation employment. Looking forward, the HSU community is currently accepting applicants for the new mechanical engineering program, which will begin fall 2023.

HSU expects these degree programs, along with campus updates, to continue to reverse enrollment numbers brought on by and still affected by COVID-19. Positive effects are already showing as retention increased this year.

HSU’s Hispanic student population increased from 22% to 24%, making it a single percent shy of the coveted Hispanic-Serving Institution designation, a goal HSU has been working towards over the past few years.

795 students currently live on campus. We look forward to them speaking life into our campus and community!
