Hardin-Simmons Gifts Thanksgiving Baskets to Local Elementary School

Each year during the Thanksgiving holiday, the Hardin-Simmons family comes together to provide Thanksgiving Food Baskets to Ortiz Elementary families.

This year, HSU students, staff, and faculty raised enough to deliver 72 food baskets, plus an additional 60 baskets to deliver for Christmas.
Special thanks to Dr. Janelle O’Connell and Tessa Wilson for organizing the event, HSU students for assembling the baskets, Holland High School Health Professional students for carrying the baskets to trucks, members of the Army National Guard for using their trucks to deliver these baskets, the 4th graders at Ortiz for carrying the baskets to the workroom, staff at Ortiz who help contact and distribute baskets to families, and United Supermarkets for providing discounted vouchers to purchase turkeys and baked a dozen rolls for each basket.
This Thanksgiving, when you are sitting at your table and blessing the food, please remember those who may be without, but also thank the Lord for His goodness and generosity and recall that another family is also being blessed and enjoying a wonderful meal because of YOU!
