Hardin-Simmons Events for January ‘20

(ABILENE, Texas)–After a month long break from the books, students from Hardin-Simmons University are well rested and have returned to campus on Monday, Jan. 13, for classes.

Below is a list of key dates occurring in the opening weeks of the 2020 Spring semester.

  • Sunday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Housing opens.
  • Jan. 20-24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., spring graduates will have the opportunity to get their HSU senior ring sized in the lobby of Moody Center.

    Honors Preview allows students to learn about the prestigious Julius Olsen Honors Program at Hardin-Simmons University.

  • Saturday, Jan. 25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Honors Preview. Honors Preview is a chance for prospective Honors students to tour the campus and learn more about the unique opportunities available in the Julius Olsen Honors Program.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Honors Day. Prospective Honors students must attend an interview before a final decision is made regarding entrance into the program.
  • Saturday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m., – the HSU Theatre Department hosts its annual “Director’s Cut Series” in the Down Centre Stage Lab Theatre located in the lower level of the Van Ellis Theatre.
  • Sunday, Feb. 2, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., – HSU School of Music Foundation presents Julia Tucker in an organ concert at First Baptist Church of Abilene.
