Campus Improvements Continue to Shine

The Hardin-Simmons University cafeteria has been under construction since 2021. A massive expansion of space, seating, and windows, with new food opportunities through kitchen upgrades and food stations, has created a buzz on campus.

While the remodel is still in progress, new foods and food stations have been introduced over the past few months and rotated into the menu. As noted in the fall 2022 dining survey, students have already noticed a difference. From 2021 to 2022, student satisfaction rose from 51% to 71%, and students seeing the value of their meal plans rose from 55% to 73%. In everything from the freshness of the food to affordability, from the availability of dietary/allergen/organic options to dining staffs’ friendliness, HSU Dining Services rated higher than the average of all schools in our region (including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama).

HSU is continuing to address student suggestions with its many campus improvements. The school is confident that once the cafeteria remodel is officially finished, it will enhance the student experience at Hardin-Simmons even more.
