Nathan Bachert, Hardin-Simmons Webmaster has been hard at work researching and developing a new dynamic design for the University’s website. In September of 2014, Nathan attended a national conference with some of the leading experts in web design. HSU’s new site will roll out in early 2016.

“The current website design was launched in November of 2011 and since that time there have been many changes in the field of web development,” said Bachert. “Our goal at HSU is to keep up with technology and best practices, including mobile first responsive design techniques.”

Research began months ago and will discover which areas of the site need to be more easily accessible for particular audiences.

Recently, Hardin-Simmons students, faculty, staff and alumni were asked to participate in a survey about their personal use of the website.  The reaction was overwhelming with over 600 responses.  The website survey provided the opportunity to hear feedback from users to confirm the data that has been collected using other tools, and allowed participants the opportunity to comment about what areas of the site may need some improvement.

Hardin-Simmons thanks everyone who gave input and participated, and we look forward to improving the website experience.
