HSU Teacher Preparation Showcase Debuts Saturday

 The Irvin School of Education will be hosting its first Teacher Preparation showcase on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

“We are wanting to demonstrate an education enlightened by faith while reflecting excellence through unique learning experiences for future teachers in Texas, the US, and the world,” said Dr. Renee Collins, Department Head of Educational Studies.

Educators from the region and the state will be speaking about their experiences and giving advice about teaching. Participants will include administrators, business representatives, teachers, HSU alumni and regional consultants.

Schedule: 

 8:45 – Registration/ Coffee and doughnuts

 9:00 – State Codes vs. State Mind: Panel of advisory committee members sharing issues in public education facing new teachers. 

 10:20 – Break

 10:30 – Frazzled vs. Freeing: Panel of alumni educators. Secondary and elementary teachers sharing ways to maintain passion for teaching and staying current in content fields of teaching

 11:45 – Questions/Answers

 12: 00 – Dismissal
