Spring Graduation Spotlight: DeMarcus Coleman

For DeMarcus Coleman, graduating from Hardin-Simmons University is just the start. He is excited to play another year of football while pursuing his graduate program. Due to the pandemic in 2020, Coleman has qualified for an extra year to play his favorite sport at HSU.
“My extra year of eligibility has given me another opportunity to play the sport I love with some great people! I am grateful and want to take full advantage of the opportunity!” Coleman said.
He is thankful when he reflects on his past four years as an undergraduate student.
“HSU has been so great to me!” he said. “The faculty and staff have treated me with the utmost respect and have been in my corner since day one.”
Coleman will graduate with a degree in fitness recreation and sports management and a marketing minor. He hopes to become a college football coach.
Coleman said his proudest moment in college was “meeting some of my lifelong friends!”
In addition to playing football, Coleman is the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President and an intramural supervisor.
Coleman says he lives by the phrase, “Stay faithful to Christ as he is faithful to us!”
Congratulations on your graduation DeMarcus!
