The Love family has been a part of Hardin-Simmons University for decades.

“Growing up, there was always a lot of talk about HSU, so that was really the only college most of us kids thought about attending,” David Love ’85 shared.

Carey Alvin Leech ‘72, a Love family member, was very involved on campus. He was a member of Sigma Delta Sigma social club, as well as a head cheerleader. For a brief period, he was a part of HSU’s Cowboy Basketball team.

Many love stories of the Love family began at HSU. LaLee Teaff  ’54x was a member of the choir during her college years. She met and married Carl Smith at HSU. Carey Alvin Leech ’72 met Ronda (Clayton) Leech ’73x at HSU and eventually got married.

The Love family legacy continues on with the most recent HSU graduate, Seth Tiemeyer ’22. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in human sciences with a minor in marketing, sports, and fitness administration/management. He currently serves as Coordinator for Intramural and Recreation Sports on campus.
