SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The Autism Center at HSU is implementing social-communication skill groups for learners with behavioral, communication, and social skill needs. Learners will be all ages, mainly focused on 5-18. This position will positively work with learners under the direction of lead employees from the Houston-Lantrip Autism Center. Curriculum has been developed for all groups. Reading and planning how to implement the lessons is a part of this position. Groups will be Tuesday and Thursdays, 9-12 and 1-4. 2-3 hours per week of material prep and clean-up time is also likely.

POSITION: Summer – HSU Learn to Swim Staff

SUMMARY/SCOPE:
Deck Supervisor: The Deck Supervisor manages assigned shifts — including supervision of on-deck employees, lifeguards, swim coaches and Swim Instructors. Deck supervisor will maintain the pool environment and interact with students and parents. He or she performs as an expert on all levels of the HSU Learn to Swim Program curriculum and demonstrates thorough knowledge of HSU Learn to Swim Program management policies and practices.
Swim Instructor: Instruct kids or adults about proper techniques and water safety while using the proven HSU Learn to Swim Program curriculum to produce those extraordinary results.
Lifeguard: Ensure the safety of swimmers and visitors to the HSU aquatic facility. The lifeguard will explain the safety rules to patrons, warn them of unsafe situations, and enforce policies on safety and proper attire. He or she will maintain orderliness by inspecting pool areas and restrooms. He or she will also monitor pool equipment and record pool temperature.
