Students Flock to Gilbert’s Birthday Party
Gilbert the Goose’s second annual birthday bash was held Thursday afternoon. Students, faculty and staff gathered on Anderson lawn to celebrate HSU’s official unofficial mascot.
“I had a great time celebrating with my friends,” Ian McKinnerney, junior computer science major from San Antonio said. “We all love Gilbert, and I like that HSU gives us a fun opportunity to celebrate him.”
The afternoon had everything from snow cones to free Chick-Fil-A and of course a photo booth, giant inflatable jousting and agility courses.
Gilbert first came to HSU more than four years ago and is now king of the pond over his turtle and occasional duck friends.
