Dr. John Hill

Dr. John Hill, professor of economics, was employed by
Hardin-Simmons University in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Business
Administration degree in economics from Baylor University. He earned a Master
of Arts degree in economics from Texas Christian University and completed his
graduate studies at the University of Tennessee with a Ph.D. in economics.
Prior to arriving at Hardin-Simmons University, he was an
assistant professor of economics for two years at Northeastern State University
in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and a visiting professor of economics at the University
of Tennessee.
In addition to his university responsibilities and as
application of his training in economics, he is a real estate investor and owns
and oversees the management of several apartment complexes in Abilene. Hill
also has a private consulting practice where he provides economic damages
reports for attorneys in cases of personal injury, medical malpractice, and
wrongful death.
Outside of his work life, Hill serves as a
trustee at the University of the South at Sewanee.
