    Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts - History

    The Department of History offers major and minor programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Behavioral Science degrees. History courses may be counted toward fulfillment of HSU core curriculum requirements.

    Bachelor of Arts | Bachelor of Behavioral Science
    A major in History includes HIST 1301, 1302, 2301, 2302, 3306, and 12 hours of advanced history courses as approved by the Head of the History Department. Requirements for a minor: 21 semester hours, HIST 1301, 1302, 2301, 2302, 3100, 3200, 3306, and three advanced semester hours in history, as approved by the department head. Note: CLEP for history courses for history majors or minors is not accepted.

    Students seeking teacher certification in history should refer to the Irvin School of Education for Texas certification requirements.
