The HSU Concert Band will be performing music from various film composers at its first concert of the season, “At the Movies!” The fun begins Tuesday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Behrens Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature selections from film composers Miklos Rozsa, Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, and others. It will include recognizable music from “Harry Potter,” “Star Wars,” “Star Trek,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “James Bond,” “Silverado,” and more.

To add to the evening’s theme, the School of Music is inviting concert attendees to dress up as a character from their favorite movie.

“This is our first concert of the season, and we hope to attract a big audience,” said Dr. Wayne F. Dorothy, Professor of Music and Director of Bands. “We’ll be performing a lot of iconic film music so everyone will recognize what we’re playing. It will be a great time for everyone.”
