Offensive lineman Vic Rodriguez '18 came
away with a major haul of awards following
the 2017 football season, including winning
the Rimington Award as the top center in
Division III.
Rodriguez was named the American
Southwest Conference offensive lineman
of the year and was named a first-team
all-American by the American Football
Coaches Association,
D3football.comand
the Associated Press.
The Mesquite native was also an all-
ASC first-team selection and was named
to the academic all-ASC team and to
the Hampshire Honor Society from the
National Football Foundation.
He was a team captain and helped lead the
Cowboys to a 9-2 record and to the NCAA
playoffs for the third straight season.
"His story is pretty remarkable," says Coach
Burleson, "he came in as a freshman and he just
kept working hard, working his way up from a
back-up on the Devo squad to an All-American."
