RECEIVES SEVERAL POSTSEASON HONORS

"If you want to know

what a Cowboy is, he is

the definition of it.

His story is one that we

will tell for years and

years to come."

— Jesse Burleson, Head Coach

Offensive lineman Vic Rodriguez '18 came

away with a major haul of awards following

the 2017 football season, including winning

the Rimington Award as the top center in

Division III.

Rodriguez was named the American

Southwest Conference offensive lineman

of the year and was named a first-team

all-American by the American Football

Coaches Association,

D3football.com

and

the Associated Press.

The Mesquite native was also an all-

ASC first-team selection and was named

to the academic all-ASC team and to

the Hampshire Honor Society from the

National Football Foundation.

He was a team captain and helped lead the

Cowboys to a 9-2 record and to the NCAA

playoffs for the third straight season.

"His story is pretty remarkable," says Coach

Burleson, "he came in as a freshman and he just

kept working hard, working his way up from a

back-up on the Devo squad to an All-American."
