Dr. Joseph Bailey

Dr. Bailey published a chapter in the book "100

Greatest Video Game Franchises" discussing

how free speech issues are addressed in

electronic gaming.

Dr. Sherry Rosenblad

Assistant Professor of Psychology

and Counseling,

Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts

Dr. Rosenblad served as the faculty sponsor

for nine undergraduate students with the Parks

and Rocks program on their trip to Guadalupe

Mountain National Park, near El Paso, Texas;

to White Sands National Preserve, near

Alamogordo, NM; and to Carlsbad Caverns

National Park, near Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Dr. John Eric Swenson

Associate Professor of Psychology and

Counseling,

Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts

Dr. Swenson, along with two HSU students,

presented at the Christian Association

for Psychological Studies International

Conference, in Norfolk, Virginia, in April. The

presentation was titled, “Psychology of Racism:

A Ten-Day Undergraduate Travel Course

Across the Deep South.”

Dr. Priscilla Selvaraj

Assistant Professor of Psychology and

Counseling

Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts

Dr. Selvaraj presented at the national conference

for the Association for Specialist in Group-

Work along with three HSU graduate students

in Savannah, Georgia, in February 2018.

Mrs. Melissa Milliorn

Professor of Social Work and Head of the

Department of Social Work,

Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts

Mrs. Milliorn served again on the organizing

committee for the Texas Field Educators

Consortium’s Student Day at the Legislature,

which hosted a day-long, social advocacy

and public policy event at the state capitol in

March. An estimated 800-850 students from

across the state of Texas attended this event.

Dr. Patrick Miller

Professor of Mathematics,

Holland School of Sciences & Mathematics

In May, Dr. Patrick Miller, Professor of

Mathematics, began implementing his three-

year $750,000 NASA grant to identify asteroids

through his International Asteroid Search

Campaign.
