RANGE RIDER | FALL-WINTER 2017 23 Dr. Wesley Hamilton, has served as Hendrick Hospital’s Medical Director of the Chest Pain Accreditation program and Assistant Medical Director of the Trauma Center. Dr. Kathryn Norton was hired as co-medical director and the anatomy instructor for the program. Amy Davison takes the role of Physician Assistant Clinical Administrative Coordinator. Tina Butler, Academic Director and Associate Professor, has served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and is the current President for TAPA. Bonnie Powell will serve as Administrative Assistant and Admissions Coordinator for the program. The PA Program was granted provisional accreditation by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant in 2016. To celebrate this accomplishment, the program held its Open House in May 2017 to welcome the HSU Family to the college’s new addition. Dr. Jennifer Eames, Director of HSU’s Physician Assistant program, provides students Hannah Brown and Michaela Rutledge with hands-on training for what has been called one of the “top-five best jobs” currently in the United States.
