Chanin Naudin was a standout player in the Big 12 at the University of Kansas and worked at a Division II school prior to coming to HSU. While new to the Division III conference, Naudin’s research quickly brought her up to speed on both HSU and the new division. “We play in a conference that has seen two different schools win a national championship and another go to the College World Series in the last 10 years,” said Naudin. “It is a high level of competition and we know the amount of work it is going to take to get to a level where we are competing with these teams.” Naudin noticed immediately that her team contained a group of hard-working players who wanted to do everything they could to get better on the field and to develop their lives spiritually. “One of the things that attractedme to Hardin- Simmons was the ability for me to share my faith with my team,” said Naudin. “That is very important to me and also very important to the players I am recruiting. That is our purpose and mission as a university and it makes me feel right at home.” SOFTBALL 21
