Mrs. Melissa (Martin) Milliorn ’93BBS , has been a social work faculty member at HSU since 2004. She became Chair of the Social Work Department at HSU in 2011, and was promoted to full Professor of Social Work in August 2017. In April 2017, Milliorn was appointed as Region 02 Representative on the National Association of Social Workers Texas Board of Directors. 3 Mr. Jay Lester ’94BM/’95MM , completed his fifth year leading the Fine Arts Department for Abilene ISD and was promoted to Executive Director. He is serving as state treasurer for the Texas Music Administration Conference and was also named Volunteer of the Year for the Abilene Education Foundation’s Young Masters. Col. Eric Harrelson ’98BA , took command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, New York, in July 2017. The Battalion consists of about 700 soldiers and officers that form the Headquarters for the entire 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry). Only about 6% of about 600 qualified officers are chosen each year.
