Photography Exhibition Chronicles Prof’s Journey           

Carrie Jones Isaacson describes her newest photographic exhibit as a timeline of her personal journey over the past two years.

Isaacson, Hardin-Simmons University assistant professor of art, combines unique images into one framed work to unite and form a collection of cherished objects for the viewer to consider in “It Was Always There: Photograph Collections.”

“These particular objects are all representative of events or people who have been a significant part of my life during a time of important changes,” said Isaacson.

A native Texan and an award-winning photographer, she studied at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy. Isaacson earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2010, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2007.

With an extensive resume of art exhibitions and awards for her photography, she has been teaching at HSU since 2011. She has also served as an adjunct professor with TAMUCC and as a graduate assistant in digital photography and lecturer at Texas A&M University – International for UT International in Laredo, TX.

Her unique photographic compositions are on display in the Emerging Artists Gallery at The Center for Contemporary Arts. The exhibit will be on display Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 3, 2014, and until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, during ArtWalk.

The Center for Contemporary Arts, in downtown Abilene, provides enriching and educational experiences through the promotion and support of artists.
