Residence Life

Residence Life:

As an evolving community, Residence Life enhances the education

experience through personal development, intellectual engagement,

and spiritual formation.

What is an RD?

Residence Directors (RDs) are professional staff members who live

in the residence halls and are responsible for maintaining a positive

academic and social environment. RDs supervise the RAs in each

residential community and provide guidance and support to the staff

team to foster student learning and growth. RDs can assist parents

and families with on-going problems or difficult situations that require

specialized care. RDs, rather than RAs, are the preferred contact for

parents and families due to the sensitive nature of student concerns

and the professional training that RDs have received.

What is an RA?

Residence Assistants (RAs) are student workers who live on your

student’s hall and are available to help connect your student to any

resource he or she may need on campus.

They are also helpful with maintenance, any room or roommate issues,

and educational or social needs. We would like these student workers to

be mentors in your student’s transition to college life.
