Professor Miller, Assistant Professor of Nursing and Graduate Program Chair, joined the HSU faculty in fall 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and went on to earn her Masters of Science in Nursing as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist from Georgia State University. She then completed a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Hardin-Simmons University in 2011. She is currently completing her PhD in Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler. Her doctoral research has been focused on the effects of nursing education on leadership self-efficacy, motivation, and the intent to lead in undergraduate nursing students. Her most recent manuscript, “When Push Comes to Shove, A Comparative Concept Analysis of Motivation and Coercion in Nursing Education” was published in Nursing Forum.
