Dr. Larry E. Fink is a native of West Chester, Pennsylvania. He has taught English at HSU since 1988, following one year at Northwestern College (Orange City, Iowa) and five years as a teaching assistant at Texas A&M, while he was earning his PhD in English. His MA in English is from Hardin-Simmons and his BA in Bible from Abilene Christian University. Dr. Fink and Rolland Hein of Wheaton College published the pictorial biography, George MacDonald: Images of His World, in 2004. He is an active member of the Conference on Christianity & Literature, the C. S. Lewis & Inklings Society, and the George MacDonald Society. He regularly reads papers at meetings of these groups.
A dedicated photographer, he teaches a First-Year Seminar called “Art of Photography” and has taught a street photography course for the HSU Art Department. In addition to the photographs for the MacDonald biography, his photos fill Baylor University’s The Armstrong Browning Library, a gift book for sale at the ABL. Larry and Cathy married in 1973 and have three grown children and four grandchildren.
