Leigh Anne Hunsaker, Ph.D.


Leigh Anne Hunsaker has taught instrumental music in Duncanville and McAllen, Texas, and currently teaches trumpet and music education courses at Hardin-Simmons University. She has published research in the areas of performing arts medicine and historic trumpet performance and pedagogy.

She is a member of the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra, Texas Camerata, and Mercury Baroque Orchestra, and has also performed with the Abilene Chamber Players, the Dallas Chamber Orchestra, the Aspen Music Festival, and other ensembles in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. On the valveless Baroque trumpet, she has performed with the Southwest Baroque Ensemble, the Dallas Bach Society, the Texas Bach Choir, the Orchestra of New Spain, and the Bach Society of Houston, and in Early Music Festivals in Britain, Germany, Spain, and Italy.
